50Q Receives Underground Parking Garage Upgrades

Kitchener-Waterloo February 11

As a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, our buildings have seen a drastic reduction in daily activity. While we miss the regular hustle and bustle in our properties, the decrease in traffic has allowed us to ramp up our building enhancements across our portfolios without disruption to tenants.

The revitalization of the underground parking garage at 50 Queen Street North in Kitchener is the latest of a long list of current building improvement projects at Europro. We are enthusiastic to further invest in our buildings to provide tenants and visitors with amenities that exceed expectations. “Europro is keen on being proactive, and we are doing just that during the current pandemic. We are committed, as always, to deliver the best services and amenities to our tenants and visitors,” revealed Europro President, Josef Jakubovic.

With the help of K. Smart Associates, Brick & Co., and Starline Pavement Markings, the underground garage at 50Q has seen both structural repairs as well as cosmetic improvements.

The structural repairs completed by Brick & Co. include crack injections throughout, soffit and slab repairs, delamination repairs, and area drain repairs and replacements. “Our main priority was to minimize the safety hazards from the previously pitted concrete floor,” stated Kitchener-Waterloo Construction Project Manager, Tom Hearn.

Introducing the epoxy surface topping and fresh line painting, we provided some much-needed functional and cosmetic improvements to the underground garage. The epoxy surface coating protects surfaces and prevents corrosion. “We aspire for the garage improvements to be in place for an extended time. With the surface topping, we can increase the durability of the garage greatly,” explained Hearn. In addition to the surface topping, Starline Pavement Markings rounded out the project by revitalizing the parking space lines to increase visibility for an improved parking experience.

With the aesthetic upgrades, the parking garage will provide a much brighter, cleaner, and more inviting space for our tenants and visitors. “We hope that the revitalization will provide everyone with a pleasant surprise when they return to the building,” concluded Jakubovic.

We look forward to bringing continued improvements across our portfolios.
